Speech and language disorders are encountered in almost all types of disabilities in the world. The increasing importance of communication has increased the need for speech and language therapists. The main aim of the undergraduate program of Speech and Language Therapy is to train Speech and Language Therapists who play an important role in the field of health sciences. Speech-Language Pathologists work in the fields of prevention, diagnosis and therapy of speech and language disorders (speech sound disorders, fluency disorders, phonological disorders, articulation disorders, etc.) as well as speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders. The Department of Speech and Language Therapy is defined as an independent branch of science that works with acoustics, phonetics, phonology, linguistics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, basic anatomy, basic physiology, pediatrics, neurology, psychiatry, ear, nose and throat (ENT), genetics, physical therapy and rehabilitation, audiology, psychology and special education sciences with a transdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach. Education and training in our department, which stands out with its strong educational staff, continues with compulsory and elective theoretical courses as well as applied clinical studies.
