Language and Speech Therapy profession, biomedical sciences (anatomy, physiology, neurology, pediatrics, psychiatry, ear nose and throat, genetics, physical therapy and rehabilitation, audiology, etc.), clinical linguistics (phonetics, acoustics, phonology, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics) It is an independent, interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary field of science that complements each other with psychology, cognitive neuropsychology and special education sciences. Within the scope of the Language and Speech Therapy Undergraduate Program, it is aimed to provide qualified information on language, speech, voice and swallowing development and disorders in adults and children in line with the international criteria of the profession and to train expert therapists who are knowledgeable in their field. Within the scope of the program; The Language and Speech Therapy department includes both theoretical and clinical training. Following theoretical courses, applied clinical studies are carried out. The student should be able to work collaboratively with experts in different disciplines, using the theoretical and practical knowledge at the level of expertise he has acquired in his field. Must be able to examine scientific methods and techniques and conduct research using these techniques. Must be able to interpret, evaluate and analyze the data obtained and develop evidence-based solution suggestions. Must be able to evaluate language and speech functions using the necessary technical equipment, devices and tools during the intervention process. To be able to make differential diagnoses and prepare therapy programs for individuals who will receive Speech and Language Therapy support. In addition, they should be able to recommend preventive approaches and initiate follow-up processes in the early age group. They should be able to provide family counseling to the families of individuals with Language and Speech Disorders by providing detailed information on the subject. In addition, awareness should be raised about increasing social awareness regarding the language and speech therapy profession.
