Midwifery

Tarsus University Midwifery Thesis Master's Program was opened in 2022. Midwifery Thesis Master's Program is a program consisting of 4 semesters, each worth 30 ECTS.
The purpose of the master's program in midwifery is; By benefiting from interdisciplinary knowledge as well as knowledge in her own field, using scientific and evidence-based data in her practices, contributing to the improvement of maternal and child health, obtaining new information for the development of professional midwifery, perceiving continuous development as a way of life, having leadership and communication skills, adhering to international professional ethical values. To train expert midwives who can work in interdisciplinary teams, produce, research, and use educational and consultancy roles effectively.
In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all the compulsory and elective courses that must be taken in the first year of the program and to successfully complete the thesis. The thesis master's program consists of at least seven courses, one seminar course and thesis work, with a total of not less than twenty-one credits. The program consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic semester. Seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful.
Students who will complete the Master's Program will be able to work as educators in various educational institutions, as well as work as specialist midwives in health homes, family health centers and therapeutic health institutions where primary health services are provided, or as academicians in Faculties of Health Sciences.
In addition to the theoretical and practical information given to students in the program, students are encouraged to follow and participate in scientific events. There is also a library available to students.
